Christmas is very important in Vigan. When the "ber" months come, you can already feel Christmas in the ciudad. There will be decorations on the streets, playing of Christmas songs will be present on malls and even houses, people go for an early shopping... there are just tons of things they do for the most wonderful time of the year. But in Vigan there are so much more. ACTIVITIES? You name them. In Vigan, you will definitely feel Christmas, maybe even so easily. It has been almost 3 years since the pandemic started, that means that we encountered two Christmas Season during this crisis. In Vigan City, we light up parols to make sure the vibe of Christmas is still present. In the center part of the city, we can see different Christmas decorations scattered everywhere. Tourist Attractions also adds Christmas decorations for us to enjoy more with the site of our attractions. I Learned,

Image
This quarter, I learnt and was astounded by how coding works and how these tags become something. I was quite interested in how individuals create portfolios, autobiographies, and websites in general. And now the curiosity has faded, and coding is both difficult and simple to grasp. There is one week left before the end of the quarter. In this quarter, I’ve finally figured out how to manage the pressure.   The pandemic made a great impact not only on our economy but also on our education. It is a great challenges for teachers and students to get accustomed to the new normal of education which is the modular distance learning. Even on our situation we must always be thankful that education is still going on. This grading added another great knowledge, experience and improvement not only in my learning but also as a person.   Like the first quarter, blogging is still continous. It still feels new to me that a lot of people can see read my blogs but I am trying my best ...

Agbiag, Bigueño!

Image
The celebration of Vigan City Fiesta is held in honour of St. Paul the Apostle, the City's patron, has been a traditional doing of the City Government of Vigan and the bigueños every January 25, every year. Locals and tourists gather to experience and see the street dancing, carnivals, food fairs, and arts and crafts, adding to the attraction of this UNESCO World Heritage City. But due to the pandemic, the traditional way of celebrating Vigan City Fiesta has stopped and changed. Last year, the City Government and the bigueños celebrated it through online. Many contest/competition happened through online like street dancing family edition, longganisa cook contest and many more. Vigan City celebrates fiesta now in the new normal in a way that everyone can still feel the importance and essence of the said important occasion, well, at the same time, making sure everyone and everything is safe. We all know that the pandemic makes it hard for all of us to feel like everything is fi...

The New Beginning

Image
A popular Christmas carol says, “New year will change our lives when our people are happy. Let us strive so that we may have prosperity. ”   This is probably what we focus more on rather than what to wear, what to prepare and what amount is in our pockets. This is what we strive to do to live righteously, with fear of God and love of neighbor, instead of how many fireworks we light, how many candles we rub and how much noise we make just to drive away misfortune and evil elements in life. .   We have opened another book with 12 chapters and 365 pages. New book, new year, new me, new perspective, new chances. Hoping this year would be great for my self-love and improvement to be a better person. But problems and struggles are inevitable and it always bound to happen, but it will serve us as a challenge and the lessons we learned from the past will help and guide us to fight and overcome it. Throughout 2021, I learned so much from it and realized many things which I can ...

Open Your Hearts and Spread Happiness on Christmas

Image
This year’s definitely the second time we celebrate Christmas amidst pandemic. The usual Christmas glee and excitement we are used to be still not possible this year. Another occasion with an incomplete family for those who live far away from each other. In focus with the pandemic, we are preoccupied with guidelines and regulations on how we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ as well as welcoming the New Year. We are only permitted to celebrate it with only members of the family who are living in the same household, and being discouraged to visit one another for our mutual protection and safety.   Christmas should be really fun and it is celebrated with the whole family, but I think now at the midst of pandemic would be less happy. They are discouraging party gatherings and limit physical interactions for everyone to avoid the spread of corona virus. I feel pity for those people especially to OFW’s who are unable to return home for Christmas to celebrate it with their...

Vaccines: The Key in Unlocking a Better Future for Youth

Image
Republic Act No. 10661 titled an Act Declaring the Month of November of Every Year as the National Children’s Month and DepEd Memorandum 75, s. 2021 titled 2021 National Childrens Month Celebration, for the Welfare of Children (CWC) in celebrating the 2021 National Children’s Month (NCM) with the theme, “New Normal Na Walang Iwanan: Karapatan ng Bawat Bata Ating Tutukan”.   The pandemic that struck us holds nothing but terror and nightmares—locking down schools, cities, and towns, as well as the dreams and opportunities of children, snuffing out the "life" of us. But more than that, this new normal brought light to new beginnings: a call for tremendous academic recovery with the expansion of digital platforms for education, and most importantly, a race to the development and procurement of vaccines with high efficacy. We are hoping that this vaccine would be the key to unlock not just dreams but a better future for us children. A future where a disease could no longer hin...
